Who Am I?
Hi! My name is Fleur and I live in NY. I am founder and editor of the GlamSavvy life. During the day I slay as an Operations/Project Manager and I come alive at night as a blogger/entrepreneur. I approach all things with passion and purpose.
I love style, beauty, books, entrepreneurship, politics, service, activism, pop culture, reality TV, travel, and inspiration.
I’m also obsessed with black people, my faith, Caribbean culture, Soca music, hot chocolate, my family and love.
My style is ever evolving. I have a deep appreciation for vintage pieces but I love a good modern minimalist look. Trends are cool but I don’t feel pressured to keep up. I’m usually just a tad bit over dressed…lol. Life is short!
Ironically, the girl who grew up climbing trees and running with the boys has a penchant for dresses and skirts while reluctantly wearing jeans and pants.
I’m a strong believer in #accessiblestyle. You don’t have to break the bank to be stylish. There is nothing wrong with a closet full of labels but, you can access style at any price point.
Style Icons: Black women but Solange just can’t do any wrong in my eyes.
Favorite Brands: Vintage Shops, F21, H&M and ASOS.
Why I started this blog?
I’m sure you’re asking what is the GlamSavvy Life? The GlamSavvy life (GSL) is where trailblazing beauty and relevant substance meet. It’s my small way of sharing the awesomeness of a black girl with the world. This is my space to be unafraid, free, and unbothered.
I’m truly a huge fan of the art of storytelling. There is value in the smallest of authentic stories. I want to tell my stories through my own words. Black women have been robbed of this for generations.
I’ve done many things with this space, now I’m doing the thing that I feared most – living my truth and sharing my authentic self.
What’s in it for you?
My hope is that by sharing my true self, you feel free to be your true self. If you’re interested in how a girl fights for herself, embraces her fullness, overcomes her challenges in style and with smarts then this is the place for you. You can expect weekly posts on my style, my life, my culture, my family, and so much more.
